Anna Sykora
Fünf Dunkle Gedichte
backwoods outing
here must be humans
cans and wrappers strewn like leaves
hunting should be grand
vacation spot
dozing in our dome
you may hear a human voice
just disregard it
witch's regret
nothing left to do
but shut the door sweep the floor
polish all these bones
visitor
in the cracked mirror
green eyes staring back at you
nobody you knew
mother mine
mother mine your place is here
where you may stay and sleep
ravens hide in the snowy pines
the lake lies dark and deep
keep walking daughter carry me home
for why should I leave you
when you've got a pair of sturdy legs
and strength enough for us two
the harder my sorrow all these years
you have ground me down
now get off mother gone and done
or must I sink and drown
the waters split into an O
and rippled like a snake
as the young woman tossed her locket away
alone beside the lake
