To Sell an E-Book
Nowadays, unless you're a very well-known commodity, the cover of your book may be all that stands between a buyer and either a mouse-click to buy or a scroll to the next page. Do you flash a little beefcake or twinkie stardust - or do you try and market a novel as literary with a young protagonist (and many key supporting characters) who are both homo and sexual? Don't ask one of the big presses, as their lists are starkers of such titles. Ultimately, Hammer & Anvil Books straddled both sides of the hedge, using a little twinkie visual action with more direct literary language.
Here is the evolution of Hammer & Anvil Books' Publicité for Miles (2013) and Hi's Cool (2014) as well as the DM anthologies Stonewall and Stonewall Redux.
{Also included are Publicité for various issues of DM where we felt a little skin wouldn't go amiss.}
